Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 10 (Diary Times): Like many parents, Priyanka’s father, Prem Lal, a doctor by profession, envisioned his daughter following in his footsteps. While his dream of seeing Priyanka become a doctor didn’t come to fruition, the remarkable success she has achieved in her own right has made him immensely proud. Priyanka has made history by becoming the first female officer from Lahaul-Spiti district to pass the HAS exam. Today, she serves as the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Seraj, a position that reflects her dedication and hard-earned success.

From Government School to HAS: Priyanka’s Inspiring Journey

Hailing from the serene village of Shansha in Lahaul-Spiti district, Priyanka’s educational journey took her beyond her hometown. She first attended Senior Secondary School in Bhuntar, followed by college studies in Kullu. With a passion for science, she pursued an MA in Zoology from Punjab University in Chandigarh, further expanding her horizons and laying the foundation for her future accomplishments.

In her early years, Priyanka aimed to fulfill her father’s dream of seeing her become a doctor, but despite her best efforts, she didn’t succeed. Undeterred, she redirected her focus in 2018 towards a career in administration. Her determination paid off in 2021 when she was selected for the post of Block Development Officer (BDO). Yet, Priyanka didn’t stop there. Alongside her government duties, she continued preparing for the HAS exam. Though she faced setbacks along the way, including failures, she never lost hope. Today, her perseverance has led her to a well-deserved triumph—becoming a HAS officer.

Priyanka Attributes Her Success to the Unwavering Support of Her Parents

Priyanka shared that her journey to this achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of her family, who stood by her at every step. While she hasn’t set specific future goals just yet, she remains open to adapting and setting new aspirations based on the circumstances ahead. Surprised by her own success, Priyanka admitted that she hadn’t initially realized she had become the first female HAS officer from Lahaul-Spiti district— a milestone she now proudly embraces.

It was only recently that Priyanka learned about her distinction as the first female HAS officer from Lahaul-Spiti, and she considers it a proud moment in her life. Priyanka’s father, Dr. Prem Lal, is an MBBS doctor, and her mother, Shakuntala, is a dedicated homemaker. She has two brothers—her elder brother manages the family business, while her younger brother is currently preparing for competitive exams after completing his studies.
