Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 9 (Diary Times): The Himachal Pradesh High Court has removed the ban on the high-end café situated in the historic Town Hall of Shimla, allowing it to reopen. The café, which is operated by the Municipal Corporation, will now resume its services. This decision was made during a hearing today before the division bench of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Rakesh Kaithla.

As per reports, the petitioner withdrew their petition, which led the court to approve the reopening of the café. Advocate General Anup Ratna informed the court that nearly Rs 8 crore was invested in the renovation of the Town Hall. Following this, the previous government had submitted a proposal to establish a high-end café within the building, as directed by the High Court.

Previously, a petition was filed challenging the establishment of the high-end café, alleging that the café’s allotment process was conducted improperly. In response to this petition, the High Court had issued an order for the closure of the café.
In today’s hearing, the petitioner withdrew the petition and retracted their claim. Following this development, the court delivered its final ruling, permitting the reopening of the high-end café. The café, located in the historic Town Hall, will now resume operations, offering added convenience to both tourists and local residents.
