Kangana Ranaut has spoken highly of her co-star Anupam Kher, saying that she wouldn’t have made the film Emergency without his involvement. The film, which explores India’s 1975-1977 Emergency period, is set to release on January 17, 2025.

In an interview, Kangana described Anupam Kher as the “hero” of the film for his portrayal of Jayaprakash Narayan. She emphasized how important it was for her to have him on board, saying, “If Anupam ji had refused, I wouldn’t have made the film. His face shows honesty, and no one could have played Jayaprakash Narayan better than him.”
