Truck Seized and Investigation Underway After Recovery of 6.64 Grams of Chitta
Ghumarwin, January 03: A significant drug bust occurred in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh late Thursday night, with the police recovering 6.64 grams of chitta (a form of narcotic) from a truck in Binola. The incident has led to the arrest of two individuals, one of whom is a serving police jawan.
The bust took place around 12:30 AM when Investigation Officer (IO) Sandeep Kumar and his team were conducting a routine patrol and roadblock operation. During the checking of the truck (HP24C-4303), they detained two individuals, Kuldeep Kumar (35) and Vishal Thakur (32), both residents of Binola. Upon further inspection, the drugs were discovered, and the truck was seized by the police.
SP Sandeep Dhawal confirmed the arrest and revealed that one of the detained individuals was a police jawan, previously stationed in the Vigilance Bureau in Bilaspur, but now serving as a driver in the Shimla Police Department. The jawan, who has been under suspicion in previous instances, had managed to evade previous actions against him.

The SP emphasized the success of the operation, stating that the police had maintained heightened vigilance over individuals involved in suspicious activities, which ultimately led to this crucial arrest. The Sadar Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, and further legal action is expected as the case progresses.
This bust marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb the rising drug menace in Himachal Pradesh, with law enforcement agencies stepping up efforts to tackle narcotics trafficking and consumption.
