Fire Breaks Out in Kutcha House, Victim Found Dead After Blaze is Controlled
Kangra, December 29: A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Barghwar Panchayat’s Ward Number Five late Friday night when a house fire claimed the life of 31-year-old Sanju. The blaze, which began around 11:45 PM, caused severe damage to the slate-roofed kutcha house, and Sanju’s body was found buried under the debris after the flames were finally extinguished.
The fire is believed to have been triggered by a stove burning on the second floor of the house. Sanju and his elder brother, Bantu Kumar, were living there at the time of the incident. Bantu, who was outside when the fire broke out, immediately raised an alarm, prompting villagers to rush to the scene to help extinguish the flames. Despite their efforts, the fire had caused extensive damage by the time it was brought under control.

Initially, it was assumed that Sanju had managed to escape the house, as no one noticed him inside during the firefighting efforts. Residents conducted a search around the house, hoping to find him safe, but it was only after the fire was put out and the debris cleared that Sanju’s lifeless body was discovered on the second floor in a half-burnt state.
The local police have registered a case, and the body has been handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination. The tragic incident has deeply shocked the community, and further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire. Authorities are also focusing on developing safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
