Why Mukesh Agnihotri appealed to BJP leaders for support of loss-making HRTC
On the third day of the winter session, Agnihotri said that for timely improvement in Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation, support of all leaders, especially Bharatiya Janata Party leaders is necessary because there is a BJP government at the center and only BJP leaders of the state can make a significant contribution in bringing the financial condition of HRTC back on track.
Dharamshala (Tapovan): To bring back on track the poor financial condition of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), which has been playing an important role for many years in transporting people from one place to another in Himachal Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mukesh Agnihotri has made a special appeal to all the leaders, people of Himachal Pradesh and especially the state leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party for cooperation. During the Question Hour on the third day of the winter session of Himachal Pradesh Assembly being held at Tapovan in Dharamshala, while answering the question of Congress MLA Chandra Shekhar from Dharampur Assembly constituency of Mandi district, he said that the present state government is continuously taking the right steps keeping in view the financial condition of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation, due to which some improvement has been seen in the financial condition of HRTC.
96 percent of HRTC routes are incurring losses
Agnihotri said that all the routes of HRTC buses in the state are incurring losses, despite this the corporation is operating buses for the passengers and the salary and pension of the employees of the corporation are being paid on the fixed date. Mukesh Agnihotri said that Himachal Pradesh Path Parivahan Nigam is completely dependent on the state government and by taking grant money, it is paying the previous dues of employees and pensioners as per the assurance, as a result of which HRTC has set a target to complete the payment of long pending overtime of drivers and conductors by March.
HRTC is operating 3200 buses
Agnihotri said that HRTC is operating a total of 3200 buses including state and outside routes in which more than 5 lakh passengers are traveling daily. He said that HRTC has purchased a total of 700 new buses this year in which 327 electric, 250 diesel, 100 tempo travellers and 24 Volvo buses are being run on various routes.
Particularly informing about the situation of the assembly constituency of Dharmapur MLA Chandra Shekhar, the Deputy Chief Minister said that at present there are a total of 51 buses in the Dharmapur depot of HRTC and a total of 62 drivers and 77 conductors are present, but 36 HRTC buses of Dharmapur depot have become dilapidated.

HRTC can get a boost with the importance of BJP leaders
Mukesh Agnihotri’s statement has made it completely clear that to strengthen HRTC and increase facilities, central assistance is especially needed with immediate effect and Congress leaders can only appeal for cooperation from BJP leaders. If BJP leaders get a large financial amount approved from the Central Government for the development of HRTC, then the difficulties of HRTC and the common people of the state can definitely be reduced.
Now it has to be seen how seriously the BJP leaders of the state think on this issue because the central government first listens to the BJP leaders and then gives its decision, therefore the cooperation of the BJP leaders as the responsible opposition of the state seems to highlight the ambition of the time.
