IIT Mandi: Professor accused of sexual harassment dismissed, investigation in another case continues

Mandi, December 13: IIT Mandi has dismissed the professor accused of sexual harassment. Two girl students of the institute had accused the professor of sexual harassment in July.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, the institute immediately constituted an internal complaint committee and ordered an investigation. The investigation committee investigated the allegations made by the girl students and found them to be true.

After this, this report was submitted to the Board of Governors (BOG). The Board of Governors took immediate action on this entire matter and fired the accused professor from the job. However, the accused professor has challenged this decision of the BOG. ​​IIT Registrar KS Pandey has confirmed the dismissal of the accused professor from the job.

Similar allegations leveled against another professor, investigation continues

Meanwhile, amid this development, another professor of the institute has also been accused of sexual harassment. This matter has also been handed over to the internal complaint committee for investigation. The committee is investigating it, after which all its reports will be sent to the BOG and it will also take the final decision on it. Let us tell you that BOG is the biggest body in IIT. Retired Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon is its chairman.
