Chennai Super Kings, among the most successful franchises in the IPL, has clinched the championship title four times; specifically in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021 had a promising auction to their side.

The Franchise made a significant acquisition this year by purchasing the English All-Rounder Ben Stokes for a whopping 16.25 crore. This acquisition is believed to have been made with a view to resolving a long-term captaincy issue for the Franchise, After acquiring the New Zealand Pacer Kyle Jamieson for a base price of 1 crore, In addition, the team invested in purchasing the reliable and experienced batsman Ajinkya Rahane for a base price of 50 lacks.

Chennai will have to be up against the Previous year’s champions the GT (Gujarat Titians) in the opening match of IPL, on the 31^st of March starting from 7:30 PM IST.
The opening match is set to be played in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The team is set to play their last match at the ARUN JAITLEY STADIUM, Delhi, against the Delhi Capitals (DC).

This year, the franchise succeeded in forming a team consisting of 25 players, of whom eight are players from overseas.
The Super Kings have prioritized strengthening their lower batting unit by purchasing four all-rounders (Ben Strokes, Nishant Sindhu, Bhagath Varma and Ajay Mandal), In addition to their existing bench of three power-packed all-rounders(Shivam Dubey, Moin Ali and Ravindra Jadeja)
The franchise has sought to find a long-term solution for their team by acquiring Ben Stokes, but they may face a challenge in determining who will bat at No. 3 and 4, as they have multiple options for those positions. This could create a difficult situation for the team management in selecting their best eleven players.

Although the Chennai squad appears to be quite decent, the weakness in their bowling department could become a significant issue for the team to address.
With a highly experienced and well-aligned squad, we may witness a great season for the team. However, given their performance in previous years, they are undoubtedly determined to turn things around this season.
Ben Stokes and Ruturaj Gaikwad are poised to have an exceptional season this time around, given their recent form and impressive statistics in the IPL over the years.
Whether Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be able to end his IPL captaincy legacy on a high note this year, remains to be seen, and only time will tell.
