Himachal: Out of 8 Lakh Unemployed, Only 15 Thousand Secured Jobs, Kangra Tops in Unemployment

Kumud Sharma, Diary Times: Whichever party forms the government in Himachal Pradesh, first of all, it definitely brings up the important issue of employment in its promises, but after the formation of the government, there is a huge difference in how many unemployed got employment. The figures released by the state government prove that there is no dearth of unemployed in Himachal Pradesh. If we talk about the figures received, then the total number of registered unemployed in the entire state has been estimated to be eight lakh, but the Sukhu government, which has been in power for the last 22 months, has been able to provide employment to only 13 thousand youth in various government and private sectors, the most important thing in these figures is that out of the 13 thousand unemployed who got employment, only 1300 unemployed got government jobs.
A spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh government said that the present state government is continuously providing employment to the unemployed in the private sector through various job fairs and campus placements.
According to the spokesperson, from January 2023 to November 2024, 13,667 youth of the state have been helped to overcome unemployment through eight job fairs and 771 campus placements organized by the Labor and Employment Department. According to the spokesperson, employment offices have played an important role in providing government jobs to 1,327 unemployed youth of the state from January 2023 to November 2024.
