Shimla, November 22: Cyber Crime Police Station, Shimla has registered an FIR in the case of fake news spread on social media regarding the resignation of the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
Giving information, the spokesperson of the police department said that the purpose of this rumor seems to be to damage the image of the government. Considering the seriousness of the matter, investigation has been started and strict action will be ensured against the culprits.
The spokesperson has appealed to the citizens to avoid spreading misleading and false information and check the veracity of any such news before sharing it.
