Tanmahimanand Accuses Shimla Police of Political Bias, Blames Vishal Sharma for Controversy
Tanmahimanand Alleges Ignorance by Shimla Police and Politicization of Incident, Seeks Help from Jairam Thakur After CM and Ministers Remain Unresponsive
Shimla, November 19: On the recent dispute in Shimla’s Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, the Mission said that this is not a matter of dispute between Ramakrishna Mission and Brahmo Samaj. The Mission says that this dispute has arisen due to some land mafias who entered the ashram.
Swami Tanmahimanand, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, said that Himalaya Brahmo Samaj, which was legally handed over the land for the ashram in the year 2014, has no connection with the Brahmo Samaj of Kolkata. He said that the local administration and the government ignored this matter, due to which the situation worsened.
Swami Tanmahimanand said that when the ashram was being vandalized, he tried to contact the Chief Minister, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Anirudh Singh and the Chief Secretary, but no one picked up the phone. Ultimately he had to seek help from Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur. The mission has accused the Shimla police administration of ignoring and giving political colour to the matter. Swami Tanmahimanand said that the vandals left quietly, but the police neither made any record nor took timely action.
According to the mission, the person behind the dispute is Vishal Sharma, who earlier worked as a gardener in the ashram. In 2007, he formed a fake trust parallel to the Himalaya Brahmo Samaj, which was declared illegal by the High Court in 2011. Despite this, he is still misusing the name of Brahmo Samaj. The mission says that this matter is still pending in the court. They have demanded fair action from the administration in this matter and to stop the land mafia.
Tanmahimanand, secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, said that when these people entered the ashram, he called the Chief Minister, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Anirudh Singh and the Chief Secretary but no one picked up the phone. Finally he had to seek help from Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur. He has also accused the police administration of ignoring him and giving political colour to the matter. The people who vandalised the ashram left quietly but the administration did not take any record.
