Winter Carnival to Boost Shimla’s Tourism, Attracting Millions of Tourists from Across India and Abroad
Shimla, November 19: After the huge success of the Winter Carnival held for the first time in Shimla last year, this time it will be organized for 10 days instead of seven days. Municipal Corporation Mayor Surendra Chauhan held a meeting with SP, DC and other officials and discussed the outline of the upcoming program.
Mayor Surendra Chauhan said that the Winter Carnival will not only give tourists a chance to get acquainted with the culture of Himachal, but will also give a new direction to the tourism business of the city. Last year, tremendous enthusiasm was seen among the people and tourists regarding the carnival, inspired by which a plan has been made to give it a more grand look this time.
The Mayor said that plans for different programs are being prepared for the 10-day carnival, which will soon be approved by the Chief Minister.
The Municipal Corporation will soon hold another meeting, in which detailed preparations of the programs and responsibilities of the officers will be decided.
This time the Municipal Corporation will also publish a special souvenir to commemorate the carnival. It will have detailed information about the history of Shimla city and the representatives of the Municipal Corporation. Its purpose is to make local citizens and tourists aware of the glorious history of the city.
With the organization of Winter Carnival, Shimla is expected to get more recognition in the field of tourism, which will attract millions of tourists from the country and abroad to the city.
