Shimla, November 18: For the first time, the Police Headquarters has given clarification on the controversy that arose due to the sudden leave of Baddi SP and 2018 batch IPS officer Ilma Afroz. The Police Headquarters has said that Baddi SP Ilma Afroz’s mother is ill and she has gone on leave to take care of her. The Police Headquarters has said that Ilma Afroz has to take care of her ailing mother. For this, 15 days of earned leave has been approved from 7 November to 21 November.

The Police Headquarters has clarified that there is no other reason for Ilma Afroz going on leave and no speculation or wrong information should be spread in this regard. During Ilma Afroz’s leave, 2007 batch HPS officer Vinod Kumar has been temporarily appointed as Baddi SP. Vinod Kumar is the Commandant of the 8th Battalion Home Guard in Chamba.

Let us tell you that Ilma Afroz had recently gone on leave suddenly. Various speculations were being made about this. It was also discussed that Ilma Afroz has gone on leave due to the ongoing conflict with the local MLA. However, the MLA denied this. During the hearing of a case, the state High Court (HP High court) has directed the state government not to transfer Ilma Afroz.
