A copy of the order has been forwarded to the media for publication and uploading. Notably, a commendable aspect of the order is that it has been drafted entirely in formal, chaste Bengali, with the sole exception of the signatory’s email ID. This reflects a thoughtful effort to maintain linguistic integrity while ensuring the document’s accessibility and clarity for the Bengali-speaking public.

Shimla, November 8, 2024 : The government of Bangladesh, currently led by a group of unelected advisors, has decided to implement lateral entry into senior positions within the Ministry of External Affairs. In a move reflecting this new approach, Mohammed Tariqul Islam Bhuiyan has been appointed as the First Secretary (Press) at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Calcutta. His appointment is on a one-year contract, with the specific terms and conditions to be outlined in the contract itself. This marks a significant shift in how key diplomatic roles are being filled, with an emphasis on flexible, short-term assignments.

The order confirming the appointment has been officially signed by Aminul Islam, Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, in Dhaka. This formal authorization underscores the government’s commitment to implementing lateral entry in senior diplomatic roles and further solidifies the terms of Mohammed Tariqul Islam Bhuiyan’s appointment.
