It is no secret that one of the next launches from Royal Enfield will be the Interceptor Bear 650, a scrambler based on the Interceptor 650 roadster. And just weeks ahead of its official unveiling at EICMA 2024, the motorcycle has been fully revealed with all the details in what appears to be a company presentation. The motorcycle looks good and is in line with the scrambler design. Now, it will be powered by the same 648 cc parallel-twin engine that is oil/air-cooled and is likely to have the same power and torque outputs which are 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm.

The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox and instead of the twin exhausts on the Interceptor 650, the Bear 650 will get a two-in-one exhaust. RE is expected to lower the gearbox ratios to offer more torque at the lower end and mid-range.

In terms of specific features, the images show that the Bear 650 will get a different seat and grab-rails along with a number badge on the side, which is a trademark Scrambler design element and it says Interceptor Bear 650. From the pictures, the handlebar seems to be similar to the Interceptor and we think the suspension travel is increased with USD forks at the front, which will further distinguish it as a Scrambler apart from the roadster that is the Interceptor 650. We also see that the motorcycle gets dual-sport tyres with spoke rims – 18-inch units at the front and 17-inch units at the rear.

The image also shows that the motorcycle has a circular instrument console, which may or may not be a TFT depending on the variant and we expect it to have switchable ABS, as on the Himalayan 450. Royal Enfield is likely to position it above the Interceptor and Continental GT 650, which means it will be priced around ₹ 3.4 to 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle will make its official debut at EICMA 2024 and prices will be announced at Motoverse 2024 in Goa.
