Himachal: Truck driver hits scooty rider, drags him for 20 feet
Actually, this case is of Una district where a scooty rider was badly injured after being hit by a truck at Jhalera on Dharamshala – Chandigarh main road. This accident is said to have happened due to the negligence of the truck driver.
Una (Bureau): Road accidents are happening every day in Himachal. Many people are dying in these accidents and many are getting injured. If the statistics are to be believed, most of the accidents in the state happen due to the negligence of the drivers and high speed.
One such accident has happened in Una district of Himachal. Here a truck driver hit a scooty rider badly. The scooty rider was badly injured in this accident. Actually, this case is of Una district where a scooty rider was badly injured after being hit by a truck at Jhalera on Dharamshala – Chandigarh main road. This accident is said to have happened due to the negligence of the truck driver. After the accident, a huge crowd gathered at the spot and the injured was first referred to the Regional Hospital Una and then to PGI. In the complaint submitted to the police, Mohammad Shoyab told that he was present at Jhalera Chowk for some personal work. Meanwhile, a truck and a scooty were going from Una towards Jhalera Chowk.
As soon as the scooty rider ahead stopped at the Chowk, the truck driver hit the scooty rider from behind. Due to which the scooty driver got stuck in front of the truck along with the scooty and was dragged for about 20 feet. The scooty rider was seriously injured in this accident. Seeing the scooty rider being dragged, a huge crowd of people gathered there.
After a lot of hard work, people pulled the scooty rider out from under the truck and took him to the regional hospital Una. Where the doctors, seeing his critical condition, referred him to PGI. On getting information about the accident, the police team reached the spot and registered a case and started further investigation.
The police have also recorded the statements of the people. On the other hand, a case has been registered against the truck driver Sunil Kumar, resident of Hamirpur and further action has been started. Confirming the case, SP Rakesh Singh said that the police has registered a case against the truck driver in this regard and has started further investigation.
