MG Windsor EV bookings open; claims 331 km range
The MG Windsor EV is the brand’s third electric offering in our market and is a direct competitor to the Tata Nexon EV.
MG Motors has officially opened bookings for the Windsor EV at a token amount of ₹ 11,000. Interested buyers can book it from MG’s official website or a second-hand store near them. The MG Windsor is positioned between the Comet and the brand’s flagship electric offering, the ZS EV.
The Windsor EV is priced starting at ₹ 9.99 lakh with a new battery rental service and ₹ 13.5 lakh if you buy the whole lot (both prices are ex-showroom). It is available in a total of three variants – Excite (Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 13.5 lakh), Exclusive (Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 14.5 lakh) and Essence (Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 15.5 lakh). The car with battery rental prices are lower, but MG will charge Rs 3.50 per km, so make sure to calculate your average running before buying.
The MG Windsor EV is equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be connected via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto climate control, ventilated front seats, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, panoramic glass roof, six airbags, 360-degree parking camera and more.
Powering the Windsor is a 38kWh battery that claims to offer a range of 331 km on a single charge. The electric motor generates an output of 136hp and 200 Nm. It can be fully charged in 40 minutes with a DC charger. However, the car will take 15 hours to be fully charged with a 3.3 kW charger. MG Windsor EV competes with Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
