Wilmington (Delaware): Praising the Indian community in the United States and their achievements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the community has made its mark in the USA by making a positive impact in diverse fields.

Sharing a post on X after his arrival at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “The Indian community has made its mark in the USA by making a positive impact in diverse fields. It is always a pleasure to interact with them.”

“On Sunday, September 22, at around 9:30 pm IST, I will be addressing the @ModiandUS event in New York City. Let us celebrate the bonds that connect our countries!” the Prime Minister said.

The Indian community in Delaware was brimming with excitement as it welcomed PM Modi. Community members were chanting “Modi, Modi” as they prepared for the PM’s arrival outside the hotel.

Expressing happiness over PM Modi’s arrival in the US, a member of the Indian community said, “I don’t think there is another politician like him who has given his life and ensured that India is respected and loved. He has brought it to the forefront of the world.”

“I feel blessed to welcome him to Delaware,” she added.

Meanwhile, another member of the community said, “I shook hands with PM Modi. I am very happy.”

“He has brought back the golden age of India. Modiji is great… This is a historic moment for us,” said another member of the Indian community as PM Modi arrived at Hotel Dupont and met members of the Indian community who had gathered there to welcome him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Philadelphia International Airport on Saturday morning (local time) on the first day of his three-day visit to the US.

“Have reached Philadelphia. Today’s programme will focus on the Quad Summit and bilateral meeting with @POTUS @JoeBiden. I am sure the discussions throughout the day will contribute to improving our planet and solving key global challenges,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

Welcoming the leaders to Delaware, President Biden said, “Today, I will welcome Prime Ministers Albanese, Modi, and Kishida to my home: Delaware. These leaders are not just essential to ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific – they are friends of mine and our nation. I look forward to all we will achieve at the summit ahead.”

At the Quad Summit, PM Modi will join US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss regional security and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. The previous Quad Leaders Summit, the fifth edition, was held in Hiroshima, Japan on May 20 last year.

From Delaware, the Prime Minister will travel to New York, where he will address a community event on September 22 and engage in a roundtable discussion with CEOs. On September 23, Prime Minister Modi will address the Future Summit at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
