CM releases Mayaram Sharma’s book ‘Shathi Pashi Ka Chautara’, describes the history of Giripar
Maya Ram Sharma, serving as Central Chief Teacher in the Department of Elementary Education, has taken an important step towards writing the history of the Giripar region of Sirmaur and has written the book ‘Shathi Pashi Ka Chautara’.
Nahan, September 03: Maya Ram Sharma, serving as Central Chief Teacher in the Department of Elementary Education, has taken an important step towards writing the history of the Giripar region of Sirmaur and has written the book ‘Shathi Pashi Ka Chautara’. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Industry Minister Harshwardhan Chouhan and Higher Education and Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani released the book in Shimla. The main objective of the book is to preserve the history of the Giripar region, as most of the history of the Giripar region was not available in written form till now.
The book describes in detail the history of the Sirmaur princely state as well as the social, religious, political and cultural aspects of the Giripar region. The history of the historic Shathi Pashi Chautra located in village Titiyana is also included in the book, which was established by the King of Sirmaur. Apart from this, historical details of Mahasu Maharaj and other deities have also been presented.
The book gives a detailed description of the deities, religious beliefs and festivals of the Giripar region. In-depth information has also been provided on the mutual relations between Jaunsar-Bawar and Giripar region. Also, description of historical Harul, heroic saga of Mahasu Devta, Laman, dialects, Pahadi couplets and Liber are also part of the book.
Central head teacher Maya Ram Sharma said that important works done in the village and Shanta Mahayagya have also been mentioned, which makes it historically highly important for the coming generation. Overall, Mayaram Sharma has tried to preserve the history of his region through this book. He has urged everyone to buy and read this book. It is worth noting that the earnings from the sale of this book will be spent on the education of poor children, which makes it even more special.
