Shimla, August 27: Uproar was seen in the House on the very first day of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Monsoon Session. After the complaint, the opposition gave an adjournment motion under Rule 67 in the House regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, which was not approved by the Assembly Speaker. The opposition walked out shouting slogans inside the House and said that in the Congress government, goondaraj and mafia rule are being protected and cases of rape and murder are coming to light in broad daylight. The government is running away from discussion in the House.
Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that in Nalagarh, the drug mafia has killed a youth and the police is not arresting the criminals. The government is giving protection to drug smugglers and mafia rule has come into effect in BBN. Murders and rapes are also happening in other districts of the state, but the government has deployed police officers to spy on BJP MLAs and phone tapping is being done.
On the other hand, CM Sukhu said that the state is going through a period of disaster and an adjournment motion comes in the House only when there is an emergency situation, it is necessary to discuss that topic in the House. The state government has taken prompt action in matters of law and order. The opposition is talking about bringing an adjournment motion in the House regarding people involved in the drug trade, whereas as per the rules, a discussion should take place in the House.
