Shimla, August 27: Proceedings of the first day of the 10-day monsoon session have begun. The proceedings of the House began with a condolence meeting in which the House expressed grief over the demise of three former members of the Legislative Assembly, Tekchand Dogra, Narayan Singh Swami and Daulat Ram Chaudhary. Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania urged both sides to conduct the proceedings of the House in a peaceful manner. Before the start of the proceedings of the House, the Congress Legislature Party under the chairmanship of CM Sukhu formulated a strategy for the session.
After the meeting, CM Sukhu said that the opposition should raise the issues of the public within the House. The government will answer all the questions of the opposition with facts. The opposition should participate in the discussion in the House with logic and not just walk out to grab headlines. The government has kept the monsoon session for 10 days so that the opposition gets full time.
Before entering the House, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that the law and order situation in the Congress government of the state is pathetic. Cases like mob lynching are coming to the fore and the government is sitting with its eyes closed. Employees are protesting over non-payment of arrears and DA. Corruption is coming to the fore in every department. Youths are not getting jobs. The government is being opposed everywhere. In such a situation, the opposition will strongly raise the issues of the people in the House and the government will be asked for answers.
