Shimla: Young man dies after falling from the fourth floor of IGMC Girls Hostel

Shimla, August 18: A young man died after falling from the fourth floor of IGMC Girls Hostel in the capital on Saturday midnight. The deceased youth has been identified as Karan Patial (23), a resident of Palampur in Kangra district. He was a student of a private university located in Solan district. The reasons for the accident have not been revealed. Shimla’s Sadar police station has taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.

The youth reaching the fourth floor at midnight has also raised questions on the security arrangements of the girls hostel. MBBS students are staying in this hostel. There are strong security arrangements in the girls hostel. Apart from this, CCTV cameras are also installed in the hostel premises to keep an eye on unruly elements. Still the youth entered the hostel and became a victim of the accident.

It is also being suspected that the young man had come to meet a girl living in the hostel and jumped from the fourth floor in fear of getting caught. Due to which he died on the spot. Anyway, Shimla police has started investigating the whole matter. When the sound of the young man falling was heard at midnight, the local people informed the police about it. The police took the young man to IGMC for treatment in 108 ambulance, but the doctors declared him dead.

According to the police, the young man died due to falling. The post-mortem of the body is being done. The entry of the young man in the girls hostel is also being investigated.
