Himachal Big Breaking: Cloud burst in Manali, flood in Anjani Mahadev drain blocks Leh road
The water level of the Beas river has risen due to cloudburst in Anjani Mahadev drain near Solanganala in Manali last night. The debris of the drain reached the Palchan bridge due to which the Manali-Leh road is currently closed near Palchan. A house and the power house located at Palchan have been damaged in this incident. There is no report of any loss of life at the moment.
Kullu, July 25: A cloudburst in Anjani Mahadev drain in Himachal Pradesh’s tourist town Manali caused a sudden flood. Due to the flood, a huge amount of debris has come on the Manali-Leh road. Due to which this major route has been closed for traffic, and the traffic has been diverted through the Rohtang Pass as an alternative.
A house has been completely damaged due to the flood in the drain. Apart from this, KK Hydro Power Project has also been damaged. Due to the debris and stones coming on the Palchan Bridge, a lot of debris has accumulated on the road, due to which the movement of vehicles on this route has come to a complete halt.
As soon as the information was received, BRO (Border Roads Organization) has reached the spot and started the work of restoring the route. Also, Manali administration and police force have also reached the spot for relief and rescue operations. Administration teams have started assessing the damage.
Former minister Govind Singh Thakur also reached the spot and took stock of the situation and demanded proper compensation from the government to the affected people. Let us tell you that there is a possibility of light rain in Himachal Pradesh on Friday. At the same time, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in many areas from 27 to 30 July.
