Himachal: A huge sharp rock fell from a hill on a moving HRTC bus near Nine Mile, 2 to 3 passengers suffered minor injuries

Mandi, July 21: A huge sharp rock fell from a hill and hit a moving HRTC bus near Nine Mile on Chandigarh-Manali National Highway last Saturday night. Fortunately, one corner of this rock hit the front part of the HRTC bus, if this rock had fallen on the entire HRTC bus, it would have been a major accident. In this accident, 2 to 3 passengers in the HRTC bus have suffered minor injuries, who have been sent away after first aid.

According to the information received, this HRTC bus of Keylong depot was going from Manali to Shimla. When this HRTC bus reached near Nine Mile at around 11:30 pm, it was raining heavily at that time. There is already a sliding point near Nine Mile, due to which such accidents keep happening here. As soon as this HRTC bus reached near this sliding point, a huge rock came rolling down from the hill and one of its corners hit the front of the HRTC bus.

At the time of the accident, there were many passengers in the HRTC bus, out of which 2 to 3 passengers sitting in the front have suffered minor injuries. After first aid, all of them were sent to Shimla at night through the corporation’s second HRTC bus. Due to this, the highway remained blocked for about an hour at night, but it was restored at night itself.

Such accidents are happening due to the functioning of KMC company, which is engaged in four-lane construction from Nagchala to Pandoh. During the last rainy season, no attention was paid in time to remove the rocks or debris hanging on the hill as a danger and now all this is causing accidents. In such a situation, there is a lot of anger among the people regarding the functioning of the company management.
