Shimla, July 11: A special dialogue program was organized today with the joint task force of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Home Guards to deal with disaster in Shimla city under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that relief work in a disaster can be completed quickly only when complete information about the incident site is collected. When our task force reaches the spot, there is very little need to make a plan. Along with this, our response time should be very fast.
Joint task force will work for three months –
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that this task force has been formed for Shimla city for three months. The force has state-of-the-art equipment and technology available so that relief work can be carried out easily during disaster.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the force will work under the District Disaster Management Authority at every sub-division level. All rehearsals have been done in every area as a precaution. Along with this, machines have been deployed at selected places.

Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi said that there should be team work from the force in disaster. The work should be divided among the skilled members in the team so that minimum difficulties are faced in carrying out relief work. He said that the format of disaster is changing every year. Many challenges are also before us due to development work. It is important for us to protect the life of every person who is affected by the disaster.

The task force formed for Shimla city has 35 members of the NDRF team and 9 members of Home Guard, who have adequate number of vehicles available.
Important role of common citizen –
At the time of disaster, the common citizen should play an important role and help the administration in relief work and people in disaster work. Along with this, information about the disaster should be shared immediately with the district administration.
During this, Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana, Additional District Magistrate (Law and Order) Ajit Bhardwaj, Navita Sharma Commandant Home Guard and members of the task force were present.
