Governor sent relief material for Kullu
Shimla, July 05: His Excellency Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla on Friday flagged off vehicles carrying relief material for Kullu district from Raj Bhavan. The relief material includes hygiene kits, tarpaulins, kitchen sets and blankets etc.

On this occasion, Governor Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla said that due to heavy losses caused by rains last year, full preparation, caution and vigilance is being exercised at every level this year.
He said that appropriate steps are also being taken by the State Red Cross Society, so that immediate relief can be provided to the people in such a possible situation.
He said that in the last one year, the State Red Cross has provided 3438 hygiene kits, 1189 blankets, 2057 tarpaulins, 2085 kitchen sets and 36 family tents as relief in various districts.
He said that this year relief material has been sent first to Kullu district and similarly it will be made available in other districts as well.
Shiv Pratap Shukla appealed that the people of Himachal Pradesh should remain cautious during this rainy season.
He also urged tourists not to go near the banks of rivers and streams.
He said that tourists visiting tribal areas must inform the local administration about their visit.
Governor’s Secretary CP Verma was also present on this occasion.
