Himachal: A team of 13 members of the 16th Finance Commission led by Dr. Arvind Panagariya reached the capital Shimla

Shimla, June 23: The 16th Finance Commission reached the capital Shimla on Sunday for a three-day visit to Himachal Pradesh. On reaching the capital Shimla, Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena gave a warm welcome to the Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission, Dr. Arvind Panagariya, by dressing him in Himachali attire. The members of the 16th Finance Commission will have an important meeting with the Himachal Pradesh government on Sunday, June 24 at the State Guest House Peterhoff.

Let us tell you that the 16th Finance Commission is going to prepare a special report on financial assistance for the next five years, under which the recommendations of the 16th Finance Commission are to be implemented from April 01, 2026. Revenue is distributed to the states only under the recommendations of the 16th Finance Commission.

Along with the Chairman of the 16th Finance Commission Dr. Arvind Panagariya, a total of 13 members of the expert team of the 16th Finance Commission have arrived in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, which includes member Dr. Manoj Panda, member Ajay Narayan Jha, member Annie George Mathew, member Dr. Soumya Kanti Ghosh, Secretary Ritwik Pandey, Joint Secretary Rahul Jain, Joint Director Amrutha, Deputy Director Manas Bajpai, Assistant Director Kuldeep Singh Meena, Assistant Director Anand Kumar Singh and Private Secretary Kumar Vivek.
