International Summer Festival begins in Shimla
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, June 15 :The four-day International Summer Festival has begun in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla from Saturday.
The International Summer Festival’s program will be formally inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh’s His Excellency Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla late Saturday evening, but before that, Thoda dance was performed on the historic Ridge in which tourists from other states were also seen dancing after being very impressed by the Himachali culture.
Let us tell you that Thoda dance mainly depicts the war between the two groups Shathi and Panshi, the Kauravas and the Pandavas.
Shimla Municipal Corporation Mayor Surender Chauhan said that on the first day of the four-day International Shimla Summer Festival, Thoda dance depicting the unique culture of Himachal Pradesh has been presented on the historic Ridge.
Surender Chauhan said that the four-day International Shimla Summer Festival will be officially inaugurated by His Excellency Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shri Shiv Pratap Shukla in the late evening.
He said that many programs will be organized under the four-day International Shimla Summer Festival so that tourists from the country and abroad can get a glimpse of the rich culture of Himachal Pradesh.
Mayor Surender Chauhan said that the tourist season is in full swing in Himachal Pradesh and tourists from the country and abroad are gathering in Himachal Pradesh and all those tourists will be given a grand welcome in the capital Shimla under the four-day International Shimla Summer Festival and the Dev culture of Himachal Pradesh will be seen.
It is worth noting that the first cultural evening of the four-day International Shimla Summer Festival will be in the name of Nati King Kuldeep Sharma, along with this, cultural programs will be presented by various schools of the capital Shimla.
