Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Una, June 08 :A case has come to light in Chalola of Una district of Himachal Pradesh where a 35-year-old woman committed suicide by sprinkling diesel on herself and setting herself on fire.The deceased woman has been identified by the Una police in-charge as Mamta Devi, age 35 years, wife of Manohar Lal, resident of Ward No. 4, Chalola, district Una.
The Una police in-charge immediately took the body of the deceased woman Mamta Devi in ​​his custody and sent it for post-mortem. Along with this, the entire case has been registered and investigation has been started.
The Una police in-charge said that on Saturday afternoon, Mamta Devi locked her husband and children in the room and mother-in-law in the bathroom and set herself on fire in the courtyard.
After setting the fire, Mamta Devi screamed and her husband and mother-in-law tried their best to open the door, but the door was locked from outside and by the time the neighbors came to know, Mamta Devi was lying on the floor, badly burnt in the fire.
On receiving the information, Una Police Station in-charge and his team reached the spot and took the body of the deceased Mamta Devi in ​​their custody and sent it for postmortem.
Initial investigation revealed that Mamta Devi was a patient of depression, due to which Mamta Devi was also taking medicines.
Additional Superintendent of Police Una Sanjeev Bhatia said that the Una Police Station in-charge has taken the body of the deceased Mamta Devi in ​​his custody and every aspect of the entire case is being thoroughly investigated.
