Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 24: A new twist has come in Himachal Pradesh’s CPS case after three consecutive days of hearing. In view of the seriousness of the CPS case, before the High Court gave its important decision, the Congress government had filed a petition to appoint senior Supreme Court advocates to represent the CPS case and had also demanded the High Court to extend the hearing a little.

Accepting the government’s petition, the High Court has given two weeks’ time to the senior advocates of the Supreme Court to plead in the CPS case. Now the next hearing in the CPS case has been kept on 8th and 9th May.

Himachal government may call senior Supreme Court Senior advocates Vivek Tankha, Kapil Sibbal as well as Mukul Rohatgi to plead in the CPS case.

Know the CPS case of Himachal’s Congress government and 12 BJP MLAs –

The ruling Congress government of Himachal Pradesh has appointed six CPS, which were challenged in the High Court by twelve MLAs of the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, terming them unconstitutional. BJP MLAs have demanded cancellation of the MLA membership of all the six CPS.

While addressing a press conference in front of the media in the entire CPS case, Advocate General of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Anup Rattan, has said that the Sukhu government of Himachal Pradesh, while presenting its side to the High Court, has told that all the six CPS in the government has been appointed with the legal process. And the MLAs holding the post of CPS do not have the right to interfere in any decision and also the CPS has been made only a suggestor.
