Mandi, April 17: A case of tragic death of a tourist from Delhi due to drowning has occurred in Macchial Lake of Sainthal Panchayat of Joginder Nagar in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.

Giving information about the entire matter, DSP Padhar Dinesh Kumar told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that four friends from the states of Delhi, Sikkim and Maharashtra had come to visit Himachal Pradesh. During this time, all four friends were staying in a home stay in Chaugan, Bir. On Wednesday afternoon, all four tourists had gone to visit Macchial Lake of Sainthal Panchayat of Joginder Nagar in the afternoon. Then among the four tourists, a girl from Sikkim and a young man from Maharashtra had gone for swimming in Macchial Lake without any protection. After some time, the boy and girl started drowning due to the swamp. To save both of them, a tourist from Delhi also went to Macchial Lake. After that the tourist from Delhi saved the life of a girl from Sikkim and a young man from Maharashtra but he himself got trapped in the swamp and drowned due to which he died. The deceased tourist from Delhi was identified as Balwant alias Bunty, son of Teerth Singh, house no. 48/8, Street No 37 Kaushik Enclave Near Balaji Mandir, Delhi 84.
