Know How 51 Shaktipeeths Were Built –

According to religious beliefs, in ancient times, demons wanted to rule over the Himalayas, which was quite harmful for the creation. In such a situation, it had become a matter of concern for the gods and goddesses. Under the leadership of Lord Vishnu, the deity of Lord Shiva, the gods decided to fight the demons. All the Gods and the worshipable Lord Vishnu created such a power due to which huge flames started rising from the ground. Due to the brightness of that fire, a beautiful girl was born in the house of King Daksh. She grew up as a girl Sati in the house of Prajapati Daksh. After this, Mother Sati fell in love with Lord Shiva. King Daksh was against the marriage of his daughter to Lord Shiva, resident of Kailash.

King Daksh wanted to marry his daughter Sati into a royal family, but Sati had considered Lord Shiva as her everything. Therefore, Mother Parvati went against King Daksh and married Bhole Nath for love. King Daksh was very arrogant, he ordered the entire royal family that now no one will have any kind of relation with Sati. After Sati’s marriage, King Daksh organized a grand and huge yagya, in which King Daksh invited all the relatives, but did not invite Mother Sati.

On the other hand, Sati’s mind was not ready to accept that her father did not invite her to the yagya. She started telling Shivji that perhaps her father might have forgotten to invite her to the Yagya due to his busy schedule, she would definitely go to this Yagya. Shivji tried hard to explain to Mother Sati that one should never go to anyone’s door without invitation. But Mother Sati did not listen to him and she went alone to participate in the yagya. As soon as Sati reached the court of King Daksh, Daksh despised her. Even her husband Shivji was insulted a lot. At this, Sati’s anger reached its peak and she burnt herself to death by jumping into the fire of the sacrificial fire of the Yagya organized by King Daksh. As soon as Lord Shiva got the news of Sati jumping into the Havan Kund, he became extremely angry. Lord Shiva immediately reached the religious ritual organized by King Daksh and took out the body of Mata Sati from the Havan Kund.

Due to separation from Sati, Lord Shiva started wandering here and there on the earth with his body. All the Gods and Goddesses and the worshipable God Lord Vishnu started worrying about what would happen to the universe if this continues.

In such a situation, Lord Vishnu divided the body of Sati Mata into different parts. After this, wherever parts of the mother’s body fell on earth, Shaktipeeths were built there. There are 51 Shaktipeeths of Goddess Durga across the country. Of these, 5 Shaktipeeths are in Himachal Pradesh.
