Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Hamirpur, March 28:Â Independent MLA Ashish Sharma, who resigned from assembly membership and joined BJP, said that his resignation is not being accepted in the assembly due to fear of defeat in the by-elections. All independent MLAs will go to the Supreme Court on this issue. If Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had got development work done in his home district Hamirpur today, his offer of resignation should have been accepted the very next day. The government fears that along with the six seats, three seats of independent MLAs will also go to the BJP’s account. He was talking to journalists upon reaching Hamirpur. Before this, BJP Mandal Hamirpur and its supporters warmly welcomed him.

He said whether the by-elections are held along with the Lok Sabha elections or after, the Congress will definitely lose. For the last 14 months, there is a useless government in Himachal Pradesh, which has done injustice to Hamirpur district. The Speaker of the Assembly is a constitutional post, he does not belong to any party. Despite this, non-acceptance of his resignation directly reflects political pressure.
On the question of horse-trading, Ashish said that he is an MLA elected for the first time and this politics has neither happened till date nor will happen in Himachal. For the last eight months he has been harassed as an MLA. The Chief Minister had not given time to meet for six months.
MLA and chief spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal said that despite the resignation of independent MLAs, instead of accepting them, pressure is being created by giving notices.
