Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Una, March 25: Two devotees from Punjab died due to land sliding on the day of Holi festival in Hola Mohalla in Medi of Amb sub-division of Himachal Pradesh, while seven devotees were injured. Of these, three have been referred to Una regional hospital. The deceased have been identified as Bila son of Kewal Singh, resident of Faridkot Punjab and Balveer Chand son of Watana Ram resident of Faridpur district Jalandhar Punjab. The police have taken possession of the dead bodies and started further action.

According to the information, on the day of Holi, at around 5 am on Monday, devotees were taking bath in the holy spring in Medi Mela Sector No. 5 Charan Ganga of Amb, during which suddenly stones started falling from the mountain. Seeing the stones falling from the mountain, a stampede broke out among the devotees. Nine devotees taking bath in Charan Ganga were injured in the accident. The injured were brought to Civil Hospital Amb for treatment, out of which two devotees died. While three have been referred to Una regional hospital due to their critical condition. Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Bhatia said that two of the devotees injured due to sliding from the mountain have died, while the others are undergoing treatment.

Whereas Balveer Singh (60), son of Ram, resident of Nidana Post Office, Khed, District Jind, Haryana, Angrez Singh (60), son of Mangal Singh, resident of Bharad Tehsil Ajnala District Amritsar And Raghubir Singh (30), son of Billu Singh, resident of Rodi Kapura, district Faridkot has been referred to Regional Hospital Una in critical condition.
