Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 20: To promote Himachali cuisine, Himachal Tourism Him Anchal Chef Association has created 451 varieties of Siddu. For the first time in Entire Himachal Pradesh, a world record has been registered by making 451 varieties of Siddu. In the competition going on at State Guest House Peterhof on Tuesday, six chefs of Himachal Tourism Him Anchal Chef Association prepared and displayed 451 varieties of Siddu. At four in the morning, six chefs started the process of making Siddu. These were displayed at 1 pm. Six chefs prepared 451 varieties of Siddu. Six chefs has made three Siddus of each type. A total of 1300 Siddus were made here.

Now 451 varieties of Siddu will be sent to get their names registered in the Limca Book of Records. During this, Shimla Additional Superintendent of Police Ratan Negi, ADM Jyoti Rana and Tourism Department Director Rajiv Kumar tasted Siddu. Him Anchal Chef Association President Nand Lal said that to promote Himachal cuisine, a world record has been created for the first time in Himachal by preparing 451 varieties of Siddu. Preparation for this record went on for a month. These have been prepared by six chefs of Himachal Tourism Him Anchal Chef Association. Now 451 varieties of Siddu will be sent to get its name registered in the Limca Book of Records.

451 varieties of sweet and salty Siddus prepared –

Six chefs of Him Anchal Chef Association have prepared 451 varieties of sweet and salty Siddu. These are made from dry fruits, vegetables, coarse grains, pulses, sweets, chocolate, gucchi, desi sugar, drynuts. Along with this, many Siddus have also been prepared from the dishes Kachori, Thepla of outside states Gujarat, Maharashtra.

Children showed cooking skills –

Himachal Tourism Him Anchal Chef Association organized Himachal Culinary Challenge and Summit at State Guest House Peterhof on Tuesday. Managing Director of Tourism Department, Rajeev Kumar inaugurated the program as the chief guest. Chefs from outside states Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Punjab played the role of jury. During this, competition was held in Children Chef, Student Chef and Professional Chef categories, in which 50 participants from Himachal Pradesh and outside states participated. Children below 16 years of age participated in the Children Chef competition. Seven children demonstrated cooking art. During this, Manan from Edward School made carrot cup cake dish with carrots and milk, Rishan Vasudeva made Chaat and cheese, Hriday made paneer tikka, Abhyudaya Chauhan made chocolate, Aarav Ratan made radish sour and sweet rice, Ahana from Tarahall school made chicken tikka dish.

Also, Shlok from Gujarat participated in this competition. Shlok made unique cake Dhokla. It is prepared from rice, urad, gram and moong dal. There will be a competition in the women chef category on Wednesday. Women making home cooked dishes will participate in it. After this the award ceremony will be organized. The participants of the competition will be honored with Annual Award, Best Restaurant Award, Best Café Award, Best Bar Award, Best Bakery and Best Sweet Award.

Him Anchal Chef Association President Nand Lal Sharma said that the objective of this program is to bring together home cooks, housewives, professional chefs in exploring the hidden Himachali cuisine, crops, culture, To boost the morale of the women of the state and become an entrepreneur, To establish a platform for entrepreneurs to come forward in the field of self-reliance.
