Shimla News: Son Of Former Himachal IAS Officer Amitabh Awasthi Commits Suicide

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 18: In Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Mudit, son of former IAS officer Amitabh Awasthi, committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope on Monday. According to Shimla Police sources, the body of Mudit, son of a former IAS officer, was found hanging in his residence in Brockhurst, Shimla. The age of deceased Mudit is said to be around 25 years. Confirmed information as to why youth Mudit took this step has not been revealed yet. No suicide note has been found from the spot. The forensic team including the police is inspecting the incident site and collecting evidence.

The police officer says that the investigation of the case is ongoing. The incident took place in Chhota Shimla police station area. Amitabh Awasthi lives in Brockhurst, Chhota Shimla. His son Mudit has committed suicide at home. Amitabh Awasthi is a native of Kangra district. Amitabh Awasthi retired on July 23 last year. Awasthi was not present at home during the incident. The police is waiting for the family members.

Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that information about a case of suicide has been received. The police team is investigating the spot.
