Shimla News: Charging Facility for Electric Vehicles Started on Shimla-Reckong Peo Green Corridor.

Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 06:Â Charging facility for electric vehicles has started on Shimla-Rekong Peo Green Corridor. IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) has installed charging station for electric vehicles at Jeori Petrol Pump after Ghandal Petrol Pump in Shimla. Apart from the Transport Directorate in Shimla, charging facility for e-vehicles is also available at many other places. In such a situation, people going from Shimla to Reckong Peo will now be able to easily use their electric vehicles.
Parwanoo-Solan-Shimla-Narkanda-Reckong Peo-Kaza-Losar has been declared as Green Corridor by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. In the first phase, charging facility for e-vehicles has been made available between Shimla and Reckong Peo. IOC is now preparing to install another charging stations for electric vehicles at Solan petrol pump also.

IOC regional manager Inder Lal Negi told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that Jeori is 140 kilometers from Shimla and Reckong Peo is about 100 kilometers from Jeori. In such a situation, electric vehicles can now travel easily from Shimla to Reckong Peo. IOCL is also going to provide the facility of e-charging station at Badrash Petrol Pump near Narkanda soon.
The process of setting up e-charging stations on the Parwanoo-Solan-Shimla-Narkanda-Rekangpeo-Kaja-Losar Green Corridor announced by the Himachal Government has been started. IOC has installed a charging station in Jeori. E-charging stations have also been established in Shimla city. Apart from IOC, HPCL and BPCL are also setting up e-charging stations facility.
