Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 02: A 25-year-old youth from Uttarakhand has died in an accident on NH-707 in Sirmour District of Himachal Pradesh. The accident occurred near Taruwala on Paonta Sahib-Shillai Highway (Paonta Sahib-Shillai NH). The deceased has been identified as 25 year old Rohit, son of Mahendra Singh, resident of Ambadi, Tehsil Vikasnagar, District Dehradun (Uttarakhand).

According to the information, on Saturday afternoon, the work of installing lights on the poles with hydra crane was going on by the NH Company. The crane had an iron lift trolley. Standing on the trolley, the deceased was working to install lights on the pole. During this time, the iron wire to which the trolley was tied suddenly broke. Due to this the person working on the trolley fell down.

In critical condition, Rohit was immediately taken to Civil Hospital Paonta Sahib with the help of other employees, where doctors declared him dead. Police station in-charge Ashok Chauhan said that a case has been registered against the Hydra driver. The case is being investigated.
