HRTC Buses: Now There Will Be Cashless Travel In Himachal Road Transport Corporation Buses, Process Started

Passengers traveling in Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses will be able to avail the facility of cashless travel from this month. In the first phase, passengers will get the facility to pay fare through debit card, credit card, UPI and QR code. NCMC card facility is going to be started in the second phase. Cashless travel facility is going to be made available in Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation buses through the payment gateway of State Bank of India.

HRTC has started the process of listing 4500 e-ticketing machines on SBI’s network. Last week, a trial of payment of fare through debit card and credit card was conducted in the presence of State Bank officials, which was successful. Testing of UPI and QR code is to happen next week.

The facility of cashless travel is going to start in the buses of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation this month. Passengers will be able to pay fare through debit card, credit card, UPI and QR code. This facility is going to be provided through SBI’s payment gateway. NCMC card facility will be made available in the second phase.

After cashless facility, HRTC is also going to provide the facility of National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) for payment of fare in HRTC buses. Through NCMC card valid throughout the country, people can also pay metro and airport fares. After the commencement of this service, tourists coming to Himachal Pradesh from outside states will benefit the most. Toll parking fee can also be deposited through the NCMC card. Apart from shopping, cash can also be withdrawn from ATM with NCMC card.
