The children treated were very active before the onset of the tumor, but both were unable to enjoy their favorite activities because of the pain caused by the tumor.

Osteoid osteoma was previously treated with orthopedic surgery, which involved removing the tumor from the bone or removing the affected part of the bone.

The most commonly used treatment today is CT-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA). This is a less invasive method. RFA uses radiofrequency wave energy to heat and destroy the targeted tumor. The precise and controlled method does not require any surgery.
