Himachal Weather: Snowfall On The High Peaks of Kullu-Lahaul Including Rohtang, Dense Fog In The Plains.

The high mountain areas of Himachal Pradesh, Rohtang Pass as well as the highest peaks of Kullu district and Lahaul-Spiti district received heavy snowfall on Saturday. There is severe dense fog and mist in the plains of Himachal Pradesh also. In many districts of Himachal Pradesh, it is partly cloudy as well as sunny.

In many areas of Himachal Pradesh’s Una district, Bilaspur district, Hamirpur district, Kangra district, Solan district, Sirmaur and Mandi district, there was severe dense fog along with yellow alert by IMD Shimla on Sunday and Monday also.

IMD Shimla has predicted rain and snowfall in the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla, as well as in many areas of the central hills and high hills on January 16 and January 17.

Due to change in the weather of Himachal Pradesh amid drought like conditions for the next three months, severe cold has increased in all the high altitude areas. On Saturday morning, along with Rohtang Pass, heavy snowfall was recorded by IMD Shimla on the hills of Kunjam Pass, Baralacha Pass, Shinkula Pass, Ghepan Peak, Chandrabhaga Range.

In Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, it was partly cloudy and sunny throughout the day.

Meteorological Center Shimla is predicting rain and snowfall in many areas of Kinnaur district, Lahaul-Spiti district, Shimla district, Solan district, Sirmaur district, Mandi district, Kullu district and Chamba district on January 16 and January 17.

At the same time, during the next two days, in the morning time, separate areas of Mandi district, Bilaspur district, Hamirpur district, Una district, Noorpur area of Kangra district, Paonta Sahib and Dhaula Kuan area of Sirmaur district as well as Baddi and Nalagarh area of Solan district. There is a possibility of severe dense fog in some parts. Drivers in Himachal Pradesh are also being advised to travel with caution due to poor visibility even in the morning.

The minimum temperature in Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamshala and Kufri was 9.2 degrees Celsius and the capital Shimla recorded 9.0 degrees Celsius by IMD Shimla. In all the three hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Friday night was the hottest during this season.

During the month of January last year 2023 itself, the minimum temperature in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla had reached ten degrees Celsius.

On the other hand, partial improvement in the minimum temperature levels of all other high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh has also been recorded by IMD Shimla. Even on Friday night, the minimum temperature in any area of Himachal Pradesh was not recorded in minus degree Celsius. Due to severe dense fog and mist in all the plain districts of Himachal Pradesh, the weather is increasing cold in the morning and evening. In the plains of Himachal Pradesh, the sun has been shining brightly since 11 am. In the plains of Himachal Pradesh, severe dense fog and mist are again prevailing since 4 o’clock in the evening.

Minimum temperature in Kukumseri region of Himachal Pradesh was 0.9 degree Celsius, Minimum temperature in Samdo region was 0.3 degree Celsius, Minimum temperature in Keylong region was 0.2 degree Celsius, Minimum temperature was 3.8 degree Celsius in Mandi district, Minimum temperature was 3.8 degree Celsius in Kalpa region, Solan district, Minimum temperature in Una district is 4.0 degree Celsius, minimum temperature in Una district is 4.0 degree Celsius, minimum temperature in Chamba district is 5.9 degree Celsius, minimum temperature in tourist city Manali is 6.1 degree Celsius, minimum temperature in Dalhousie is 6.4 degree Celsius, minimum temperature in Kangra district is 6.6 degree Celsius, the minimum temperature in Reckong Peo was 7.1 degrees Celsius recorded by IMD Shimla.
