Special Road Tax: Tax On Small Passenger Vehicles Of Himachal Pradesh Increased Six Times
Under the Special Road Tax Act, tax on all small passenger vehicles in Himachal Pradesh has been increased six times in the entire Himachal Pradesh. Expressing displeasure over the imposition of more than six times the tax on small passenger vehicles under the Special Road Tax Act, the Himachal Pradesh Small Vehicle Operators Association has decided to fast unto death over the decision of the Himachal Pradesh government.

For the tourists of Himachal Pradesh, the special road tax on tourist vehicles has been increased to more than six times the annual increase rate, due to which this decision of the Himachal Pradesh government is a matter of happiness for all the travel agents of outside states. On the other hand, the Small Vehicle Operators Association of Himachal Pradesh has expressed strong displeasure over this decision of the Himachal Pradesh Government.
Special Road Tax Act increased six times in entire Himachal Pradesh –
The Himachal Pradesh government has broken the legs of all the Small Vehicle Operators Associations by reducing the Special Road Tax from Rs 3,000 to Rs 500 per day under the Special Road Tax Act on all tourist vehicles from outside states on All India Permit.
On the other hand, under the Special Road Tax Act, the annual road tax on all tourist vehicles in Himachal Pradesh has been increased by more than six times at the annual average rate.
On one hand, there is an atmosphere of happiness among all the travel agents of outside states due to this appeasement decision of the Himachal Pradesh government, while on the other hand, the small vehicle tourist vehicle operators of Himachal Pradesh have expressed their displeasure and have started a fast unto death. .
Himachal Pradesh government had implemented the special tax rates of Rs 6,000 per day by increasing all the rates of Special Road Tax Act by Rs 3,000 per vehicle from September 1 last.
Due to which all the travel agents from outside states boycotted this decision of Himachal Pradesh government and started sending tourists to other states.
Also, due to the six-fold increase in the daily rates of Special Road Tax, all the travel agents of Punjab had threatened the Himachal Pradesh government to seal the border of Himachal Pradesh for tourists.
Tourism industry traders have faced huge losses during the entire Durga Puja this year due to the Himachal Pradesh government increasing the total annual rates under the Special Road Tax Act by six times per day.
All commercial vehicles with a capacity of less than five seats registered by RTOs of various districts across Himachal Pradesh now have to pay an amount of Rs 8,000 per day instead of Rs 1,350 per vehicle due to the increased rates of the Special Road Tax Act. All small vehicles in the state with average capacity less than five seater and less than ten seater now have to pay Rs 2,000 instead of Rs 800 due to the six-fold increase in the new daily rates of the Special Road Tax Act.
Also, in entire Himachal Pradesh, the average vehicles with capacity more than ten seater and less than twenty-three seater now have to pay an amount of three thousand rupees daily instead of one thousand rupees due to six times increase in the special rates of the Special Road Tax Act Is implemented Himachal Pradesh government.
Also, due to the implementation of special rates of Special Road Tax Act, tax for special tourist vehicles will now be charged at the new rates of five thousand rupees per seat per day instead of fifteen hundred rupees per day due to the implementation of special rates of Special Road Tax Act on all vehicles with an average capacity of more than twenty-three seaters in the entire Himachal Pradesh Have to give as Special Road Tax Act.
New rates implemented after deduction for states outside Himachal Pradesh –
For tourist vehicles from states outside Himachal Pradesh, there is a daily special road tax of Rs 500 for thirteen to twenty-two seaters, while there is a provision under the Special Road Tax Act of Rs 1,000 for three days and a special road tax of Rs 2,000 for a week. The entire provisions of the Act have been implemented by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
On the other hand, as per the new rates of the Special Road Tax Act, special road tax of Rs 1500 per day will be collected for all vehicles with more than twenty-three seaters from outside states, while on the other hand, for tourist vehicles with more than twenty-three seaters for three days, Rs. A Special Road Tax Act of Rs 3,000 has been implemented. Also, a complete Special Road Tax Act of Rs 6,000 per week has been implemented for all tourist vehicles from outside states with more than twenty-three seaters.
If the Himachal Pradesh government does not withdraw the new notification, then a death march will be carried out –
Himachal Pradesh Small Tourist Vehicle Operators Association is already facing losses due to the Corona epidemic and the natural disaster of heart-wrenching rains, floods and landslides in the entire Himachal Pradesh, on the other hand, the Himachal Pradesh government has imposed special road tax. On the other hand, All India Himachal Commercial Vehicle Joint Action Committee Chief Chairman Rajendra Thakur, Principal President Makardhwaj Sharma, General Secretary Sandeep Kanwar, Chief Joint Secretary Madan Lal and Chief Legal Advisor of Himachal Pradesh Naresh Thakur told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that If the new notification of Special Road Tax Act is not withdrawn by the Himachal Pradesh Government as soon as possible, then the All Himachal Vehicle Joint Action Committee will be seen protesting unto death.
