After about 86 days, a huge crowd was seen at Shimla Railway Station in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh tourism business has started gaining momentum again. The main department of Railways is continuously running four trains each from Kalka to Shimla and from Shimla to Kalka. Highlights-With the arrival of the first toy train in Shimla at around 9.30 in the morning, a huge crowd and movement of passengers was felt at Shimla Railway Station at Shimla Junction after a long time.
All the passengers and tourists enjoyed the toy train journey, capturing the beautiful valleys of Himachal Pradesh and these unforgettable moments from the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla track.
In view of the winter tourist season, a large number of tourists have started flocking to Shimla again. Most tourists come to Shimla by rail.
Groups of tourists from West Bengal are going to leave for Shimla in the coming days for Navratri and Durga Puja. With the commencement of operation of trains by the Railway Board, tourism development in Himachal Pradesh is going to get a boost again.

The resumption of the Kalka-Shimla railway line will provide a lot of relief to the local people and travelers and tourists. Due to the closure of train travel, my long journey to Haridwar remained incomplete. Since the train journey has started, I have immediately booked a trip to Haridwar.

Currently trains on these routes are being operated –
Train number 04543 started from Kalka Junction at 3.45 am and reached Shimla Railway Station at 9.30 am. After this, train number 04506 started from Kalka Junction at 4:45 in the morning and reached Shimla Railway Station at 10:20 in the morning. After that, train number 52451 started from Kalka Junction at 5.45 am and reached Shimla Junction at 10.45 am. Train number 52453, leaving from Kalka Junction at 6:20 am, reached Shimla Railway Station at 11:45 am.
On the other hand, the first special from Shimla to Kalka was sent by the Railway Board on train number 04505 towards Kalka Junction at 12.35 pm. The second two case special train was sent from Shimla towards Kalka Junction at train number 04544 at 2:15 pm. After that, Shivalik Deluxe Train No. 52452 from Shimla Junction was sent towards Kalka at 5.40 pm, while Train No. 54454 Kalka-Shimla Mail train was sent to Kalka at 6.15 pm.
Railway Board will increase the number of trains very soon –
Eight trains are operated by the Railway Board on the Kalka-Shimla Railway Route, a historical heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Keeping in view the number of tourists, the Railway Board is currently operating four trains each on the Kalka-Shimla railway route. Among these trains, Kalka-Shimla Special Express, Kalka-Shimla Two Case, Kalka-Shimla Deluxe and Shimla-Kalka Mail trains are being successfully operated on Kalka-Shimla railway line. Whereas Himalaya Queen, Himdarshan, Rail Motor Car and Up Mix along with Down Mix trains are not being started yet by the Railway Board management. Divisional Railway Manager Ambala Division Mandeep Singh Bhatia told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that as soon as the number of passengers and tourists increases, all the trains on the Kalka-Shimla railway line will be derailed.
