Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor has made a big attack on the central government. On Wednesday, he said that on one hand India is hosting G-20 meetings on the theme of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, while on the other hand a state is burning, due to which India is losing its credibility in front of the world.

Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor has made a big attack on the central government. On Wednesday, he said that on one hand India is hosting G-20 meetings on the theme of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, while on the other hand a state is burning, due to which India is losing its credibility in front of the world.
Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor said that while India’s leaders talk about Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam in their speeches, ‘what credibility do we have when our own state is burning? People all over the world who read about India will say that humanity and harmony are needed here first.
After releasing the cover of a book titled ‘Manipur FIR’ written by Delhi journalist George Kallivayalil, Shashi Tharoor said that he would request Prime Minister Modi to take some action at least to save our credibility globally. The event was organized by the Kerala Media Academy. CPI(M) leader and Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas was among the dignitaries who attended the event.
Addressing the people, he said that violence had spread in Manipur in May, today it has taken a frightening form. Looking at the situation President’s rule should be imposed there. This way, the army and the governor can take decisions on maintaining law and order without any political interference. He further strongly criticized both the BJP-led state and central government and said that BJP has to remain in power so he does not want President’s rule there.
Earlier, Shashi Tharoor had targeted the PM for renaming the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library and said that it was a matter of regret that this happened. Praising the PM’s idea, he said that the idea of setting up a Prime Minister’s Museum to showcase the works of all the previous Prime Ministers is really commendable. He said that the idea is good, but changing the name of Nehru Memorial in the process is a small act.
