Sirmour News : Agricultural scientists prepared hybrid grass at Agricultural Research Center in Sirmour district

Sirmour News : Cattle breeders and farmers have to face the problem of animal fodder many times. In view of this problem, agricultural scientists of Agricultural Research Center Dhaulakua in Sirmaur district have prepared napier hybrid grass.

Where this napier grass provides green fodder throughout the year, it is the best food for animals. Centre’s expert doctor Saurabh said that apart from this, this variety of grass is also helpful in preventing soil erosion in the fields and provides protection to the fields.

This grass is harvested from February to November and after harvesting it starts growing again.

He said – We have planted this napier hybrid variety which is co 5 in our farm. See it is perinial, will plant it once. Now farmers can take its cutting for a year.

The Dhaula Kuan here, in the Dhaula Kuan farm of Sirmaur, we take its cutting from February to November under Agricultural Science. What is the use of this, we can provide green fodder to the animals throughout the year.

One has to rely less on dry fodder. Another specialty of this fodder is that it used to be napier earlier also, it had more uxlet content and less crude protein. It has less uxlet content which is beneficial for the health of the animal. For and the content of crude protein is more in it.
