Sirmour : Due to heavy rains in Sirmaur district, loss of 17 crore rupees to agriculture sector

According to Rajendra Thakur, Deputy Director of Agriculture, Sirmaur, vegetables are produced on five thousand seven hundred hectare land in the district and out of this three thousand seven hundred hectare land has been damaged.
He said that in view of the damage caused to the crops due to heavy rains, the time period has been extended till July 31 to get the crops insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the district.
He told – Our area comes under vegetables of about five thousand seven hundred hectares, in which thirty-seven hundred hectares which have been affected by us, this is a lot, in some places the loss is less than thirty-three percent, in some places the loss is more than thirty-three percent, A lot of damage has been estimated there.
I would like to inform the farmer brothers that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the date of insurance has been extended till July 31. Those who have not yet got their crops insured are paddy and maize. So please go to the nearest common service center

District Project Officer of Atma Project Sahib Singh said that the joint teams of Agriculture Department and Atma Projects are going to 269 panchayats of the district to assess the damage caused to the crops and will submit their report in four days.
