Tomato prices became expensive in the markets across the state
There has been a huge jump in the prices of tomatoes in the markets across the state. In Solan Mandi also, one carat of tomato is being sold from Rs.500 to Rs.1300.
The farmers of the state are getting good prices for their crops due to damage to the tomato crop due to heavy rains in the plains. The farmers have expressed happiness over getting good prices for tomatoes.
A farmer told – Tomatoes which were five hundred rupees in the vegetable market today, were sold for thirteen hundred rupees per carat. All the farmers are very happy in this rate, all of them are engaged in tomatoes and those who are looting their tomatoes are also being sold for 16, 17, 100 rupees, they are also earning well.
The river tomatoes got spoiled due to excessive rains and the open tomatoes are being sold fast because of this reason.
That means, due to less crop this time, the rate of tomato has been very high and the crop is less in Bangalore and Nashik. Due to which the people of Himachal are getting very good rates. The farmers of Himachal will be benefited this time and only this time. Farmers planted less tomatoes here in Himachal too and here the arrival which is very less in Solan vegetable market and tomatoes are coming here too.
