The three-day IWG meeting began on June 26 at Hotel Westin Resort, Narendranagar. In which about 63 delegates from G20 member states, invited countries and international organizations participated.

The third meeting of the G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) concluded at Narendranagar in Tehri Garhwal. In the two sessions held on the last day, the delegates discussed another important line of action mentioned in the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda, along with a framework for enhancing the capabilities of urban governance. The next and last meeting of the Infrastructure Working Group will be held on 19-20 September 2023 at Khajuraho (Madhya Pradesh).

The three-day IWG meeting began on June 26 at Hotel Westin Resort, Narendranagar. In which about 63 delegates from G20 member states, invited countries and international organizations participated. On the first day of the meeting, the basic infrastructural development of the cities of the future was discussed.

At a high-level seminar on building livable cities organized by the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), representatives from member countries discussed ways to enhance private investment in cities of the future, simplify policies and promote strong infrastructural development. Apart from this, mutual harmony was emphasized to fight the natural challenges.

While the first session on the second day discussed the topic of enabling inclusive cities, increasing access and opportunities in urban services. In this, the delegates deliberated on ways to apply Quality Infrastructure Investment Indicators to infrastructure projects. The session also analyzed the budget allocation for infrastructure in G-20 countries. There was a detailed discussion on the QII indicator set by the G20.

Along with this, a “Round Table Conference on Making India an MRO Hub” was organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Central Government. The representatives of the member countries termed the discussions held on various subjects as meaningful. In which the Presidency outlines clearly defined outcomes.

On this occasion, the guests appreciated the Indian Presidency for the warm hospitality and acknowledged the efforts of the Presidency towards achieving progress in all spheres. Thereafter, the G20 delegates visited Chaurasi Kutia Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh and participated in Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat.

In the last three days, the delegates relished the local cuisine of Uttarakhand and understood the culture and heritage of the state. Along with this, a yoga retreat was also organized for the delegates. The delegates also enjoyed a friendly cricket match organized at the PTC ground.
