A woman in the United States has been arrested for allegedly murdering her mother and dismembering her body. According to The Independent, the 32-year-old woman, identified as Torilena Mae Fields, was charged on Wednesday with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and obstructing governmental operations after she was arrested in connection with the death of her mother, Trudy Fields. She allegedly stabbed and shot her mother multiple times. She is also accused of torturing and killing a dog. Authorities have indicated that more charges could be added as the investigation progresses.

According to The Independent, on Wednesday, authorities said that when the worker hired to work on Trudy Fields’ home arrived at the property he did not find the homeowner, but then he found a decomposed body in the backyard. At first he thought the remains were Trudy Fields’ and called the Kentucky State Police.

Officers then arrived at the scene and found a woman’s body on a blood-stained mattress. Police then noticed a second blood-stained mattress that had been dragged to the back of the home.

Finding another woman inside the home, troopers attempted to speak to her, but she allegedly refused to identify them or allow them to enter, forcing them to obtain a search warrant.

“Units responded and located a deceased female in the backyard,” KSP Trooper David Jones said in an arrest citation. According to the outlet, they said, “tried to contact someone at the home. The home was locked. They backed off and set up a perimeter. We asked other units to respond. Eventually obtained a search warrant for the residence.” Then, members of the state police’s Special Response Team found 32-year-old Torilena Fields alone in the home. According to the arrest document, police gave her multiple orders to leave the home, but she allegedly refused to comply. Police were eventually forced to remove the 32-year-old from her home. After taking her into custody, they discovered that body parts had been ripped out and stuffed into a folded mattress. When they arrested Fields, she had blood on her face, hands, and clothing, and when they entered the home, they found a stainless steel pot containing body parts that appeared to have been cooked in the oven. The employee who discovered the body told officers that the 32-year-old man had been on the property during one of his previous visits and was “casting spells at them and getting into a fight.”

Fields was reportedly under the influence of drugs when she was arrested. She has been charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, torturing a dog or cat, and obstructing government operations. She is being held at the Bourbon County Detention Center on a $1.5 million bond.
