If you’re planning a trip to Himachal Pradesh or living in the hills, the weather is about to get more dramatic over the next few days.

The higher reaches of the state are once again turning into a winter wonderland, with fresh snowfall expected to continue till April 5. At the same time, lower and mid-hill regions are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall, creating a classic mix of cold winds, cloudy skies, and occasional sunshine.

⚠️ Yellow Alert Issued for Multiple Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow weather warning for March 31 in districts like Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, and Chamba.

Residents in these areas should stay alert, as thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are likely to impact daily life today.

🌧️ Rain and Snowfall Activity in Last 24 Hours

Over the past day, several regions have already experienced changing weather conditions:

  • Lahaul-Spiti saw light snowfall
  • Solan recorded 18.4 mm rainfall
  • Manali received 14 mm rain
  • Shimla reported 4.4 mm rainfall

These conditions are expected to continue, with weather activity likely to intensify on April 3 and 4, making those days particularly important for travelers and locals alike.

🌡️ Temperature Trends: Slight Rise Expected

Despite the ongoing rain and snowfall, temperatures across Himachal Pradesh are expected to rise slightly by 3°C to 5°C in the coming days.

Here’s a quick look at recent temperatures:

  • Shimla: 11.8°C
  • Dharamshala: 9.5°C
  • Manali: 7.1°C
  • Kangra: 15.2°C
  • Mandi: 13.3°C
  • Solan: 11°C
  • Bilaspur: 17.5°C
  • Kalpa: 3°C
  • Kufri: 5.8°C

The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Una at 29.2°C, while the coldest spot remained Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti at just 1.5°C.
